Pupil Enrichment Team

AIMS

The Pupil Enrichment Team believes in creating meaningful opportunities that extend learning beyond the curriculum, enriching pupil’s experiences at different points of the school day and in a variety of settings. We are committed to ensuring every child takes part in at least on enrichment provision each academic year, giving all pupils the chance to nurture new interests, develop skills and grow existing talents.

Our work is rooted in the school’s C.A.R.E values, which we aim to embed in every enrichment opportunity, while also fostering and upholding the Rights of the Child articles. Together these principles guide us in providing a rich, inclusive and inspiring offer for all.

Rights of the Child articles evident when pupils partake in enrichment activities:

Joining the Pupil Enrichment Team helps our pupils develop leadership, confidence and a stronger sense of responsibly within the school community. By contributing ideas, supporting activities and helping shape the enrichment offer, pupils gain valuable communication, problem solving and teamwork skills. Being part of the team, also allows them to represent their peers, influence positive changes and take pride in creating opportunities that benefit the whole school. Overall, it empowers pupils to grow personally and socially while making a meaningful contribution to school life.

WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED SO FAR

This academic year, the Enrichment Team has successfully gathered comprehensive pupil voice by speaking with pupils across the school to understand what they enjoy most about the existing enrichment provision. By listening to their opinions and experiences, the team has gained valuable understanding of what it is pupils enjoy the most.

Playing chess is fun! I am learning how to move the different pieces on the board. I have made a few mistakes and learnt from them. We get play with real chess pieces and play against different people each week.

Playing a musical instrument as part of a band is fantastic! I like knowing I am getting better each week. I am really looking forward to performing in front of the parents, before Christmas.

                                       Rock Steady

Theatre Club is a place where I feel I can express myself. We get to collaborate with our friends and learn how to project our voices. We also earn how to express emotion through our body language and facial expression.

I get to have fun and play different games every week. I get to try different sports and learn new skills. Sometimes, I have to try a sport more than once to decide whether I like it.

During the Autumn Term, the Pupil Enrichment Team have been out and about collecting pupil voice to better understand how we can continue to improve and expand our enrichment provision.

By speaking with pupils across the school, we asked what they enjoy most and what they would like see in the future. Their suggestions and ideas have given us a clearer picture of activities, clubs and experiences that matter the most to them.

This feedback is helping us to shape a more exciting, inclusive and relevant enrichment offer that truly reflects the interest and needs of our pupils.
